ID cards differ from standard PVC cards. ID cards are usually equipped with personal data and a photo of the cardholder. High quality ID cards are made from Ploycarbonat to guarantee highest stability and life.

Besides the optical personalization the ID card can also contain a RFID- or contactchip. The RFID chip has a unique serial number (UID), the encoding defines the cardholder and makes duplicates or forgery almost impossible. Additional protection against forgery can be a hologram on the card.

The Plastic card is usually printed in Offsetprint CMYK first and personalized afterwards. The personalization can be made directly before issue of the card by a card printer.

Small quantities can be realized in digital print, where the layout and the personal data are printed on the card in one step.
